Dear Trip Coordinator,
Skiing and snowboarding are lifetime activities that help develop new skills, self-awareness and decision making. Our programs are rooted in safety and designed to follow the development path created by the Canadian Ski and Snowboard Instructors Alliance (CSIA & CASI) and the Alpine Responsibility code. Skiing and snowboarding are both recognized by the Nova Scotia School Curriculum for Physical Education under Movement Categories and subcategories for Individual Pursuits. Bring your school or group to Cape Smokey to learn life long skills, build confidence and have fun!

This is a 6 visit program
• First visit in the fall
• 4 winter visits include, lift tickets, rentals and instruction
• Final visit in the spring for an Olympic Day full of fun Olympic style activities.
The Fall and Spring Trip will be complimentary when you register and
confirm for 4 winter school visits.

We're not so far
We are less than a 2-hour drive from Sydney and during the week we have the slopes wide open for outdoor learning. Our outstanding grooming, un-crowed hill and Atlantic Canada’s only Gondola with 3 new beginner trails from the summit has made the progression for all levels at Cape Smokey some of the best in Nova Scotia. Our unique location adjacent to Cape Breton Highlands National Park and Cape Smokey Provincial Park means our school programs can incorporate other curricular themes such as conservation, biology, geography, geology, and history. We not only develop winter sports skills at Cape Smokey but also a sense of place and stewardship within our National and Provincial Parks.
