Hey, Steve! Saturday is going to be great! Let’s find out a bit more about your background, so our listeners have some insight before listening to your great music.
When did you first begin your musical journey (what started your interest)?
I started playing guitar when I was 12. My father had a large record collection, so music was always a part of my upbringing
Have you always gravitated towards the guitar, or have there been other instruments in your musical past?
I actually began playing piano before guitar, but wanted a guitar at a young age.
Oh, wow! Glad you managed to pick up the guitar then! How would you describe your style of music?
I suppose you would call me a folk singer. I like to tell a story through my songs.
That’s a great way to put it. What kind of music do you listen to in your free time? Can you name 3 bands/artists that are always on your playlist?
I listen to lots of different music, but three artists always in my playlist are:
Joel Plaskett
Mark Knopfler
John Prine
Is there anything unusual/unique about playing at Cape Smokey?
It’s a first for me so I don’t know what to expect. I know the area is beautiful so I’m looking forward to it!
We are so glad you’re joining us for the first time! Do you prefer to play during the summer time or winter gigs?
I like summer shows. Folks are generally in a better mood in the summer and are seeking out live music.
That’s interesting. Hopefully, we can convince you to come back this winter, as well! Where is your home away from home?
These days my home away from home is Sydney. I spend a lot of time there.
There’s a great music scene in Sydney, so that’s understandable! What is something that people don’t know about you that you wish they knew about you?
I’m not a morning person. Lol
Inquiring minds want to know: Does pineapple belong on pizza?
Absolutely not
Haha! Well, thank you for sitting down with us for a quick Q&A, Steve. We look forward to featuring you this weekend!
